Opportunity Junction relies on donations from the community to continue our important work of fighting poverty by helping low-income Contra Costa residents gain the skills and confidence to get and keep jobs that support themselves and their families. Below are the most common questions we receive about donations. If you have a question that is not addressed below please contact Rebecca Riley, Director of Development.
What is the easiest way to donate to the Junction?
Thank you for asking! Please either send a check to 3102 Delta Fair Blvd, Antioch, CA 94509 made payable to Opportunity Junction or use your charge card on our website, follow the "Donate Now" link.
What about clothing?
As much as we appreciate the thought, Opportunity Junction does not have the space to store nor the staff time to sort clothing donations. We can only accept certain sizes of professional clothes. Please do not drop off clothes without first speaking to Michelle Stewart, Manager of Professional Development.
What about real estate?
We would love to talk about your real estate donation! We cannot accept raw land, or any real estate with a mortgage lien or any environmental hazard. Please contact Rebecca Riley, Director of Development, for more information.
What about an old car or truck?
The Junction would be delighted to receive the proceeds from a sale of your old vehicle! We process vehicle donations through v-Dac. Please follow the "Find Your Favorite Nonprofit" link on the v-Dac website.
What about stocks, bonds or mutual funds? We welcome your securities donation! Many of our donors have found that donating appreciated securities helps their tax situation more than donating the cash proceeds from a sale of their securities. We have an account at Schwab to facilitate gifts. Please click here for complete information. If you have questions or need help please contact Rebecca Riley, Director of Development.
How do I include the Junction in my will or trust?
The language we recommend is this: "I give and bequeath to Opportunity Junction (tax identification number 68-0459131), a non-profit corporation established under the laws of the state of California, (state percentage of estate, residue, sum of money, or describe property)…" If you have questions or need help please contact Rebecca Riley, Director of Development.
