Mentors

Being a trainee can be a scary experience. Who better to help you through the ups and downs of training than someone who’s been there? That’s why we created the Mentor Program. The Mentor Program pairs Job Training and Placement Program Alumni with current trainees to provide support and guidance on how to successfully complete the program.

As a mentor, you will build a positive, supportive relationship with a trainee through weekly phone calls and emails, and a monthly face-to-face meeting. Through this regular contact, you can provide the emotional support and professional guidance trainees need to help complete the training and enter the internship. Ultimately, you will have played a part in helping another Job Training and Placement program participant gain the confidence and skills they need to enter the work force.

Interested in becoming a mentor?  Complete the mentor application and return it to Michelle Stewart at michelle@opportunityjunction.org.
