The Opportunity Junction Job Training and Placement Program begins new classes three times a year, in January, May, and October. The next class begins on Monday, September 29, 2008, and you can link to our full schedule here.
The first step in applying to our program is to let us know that you're interested! Call us at (925) 776-1133 and say that you're interested in the next Opportunity Junction training class. Your call will be routed either to Natalie Georgia, our Manager of Personal Development, or to the intern who is handling new applications. Either way, you will get information about the next steps you need to follow.
The next step is to figure out whether our program is a good fit for you. During our recruitment period, we run daily application sessions at 10 am that include a 45-minute informational overview of the program. Everyone who is interested in applying to the program must attend one of these sessions and be on time (please plan to arrive at least 5 minutes early so that you can get settled). If you are a CalWORKS participant, another important part of the process is contacting your Employment Specialist, who can help you develop a training plan and determine your eligibility. Click here for a flyer announcing the application session dates.
When you attend the informational overview, you will receive an application packet that contains an application checklist and calendar, along with some forms to fill out. You can also link to the Application Checklist here.
Qualifications:
- No computer experience is necessary
