After twelve weeks of intensive training, participants are employed as Technical and Administrative Interns for a period of two to four months. As part of the DataWorks social enterprise, interns put their skills to work, working in teams on various projects contracted by outside companies as well as working on internal Opportunity Junction projects.

Participants continue learning, following an intense curriculum:

  • Build skill with typing and ten key exercises;
  • Continue to study material based on core Microsoft curriculum as well as more advanced applications;
  • Take MOUS certification tests; and
  • Use Smart Force testing online.

Like other employees, interns are given regular feedback on their performance. They are given a formal written review after two months.
