Volunteering with Opportunity Junction is fun and rewarding.We have a wide variety of opportunities -- everything from tutoring to delivering food to participants.

Volunteers help us with important tasks such as food bank distribution.

We ask all interested volunteers to fill out an application and attend one of our volunteer orientations.

We greatly appreciate and value the commitment of each of our volunteers, who have provided over 3,000 hours of service this year! Volunteers like Patrick Speese, our May Volunteer Spotlight, allow us to provide essential services to the Contra Costa community. Get involved today and you could be our next volunteer spotlight!

Current opportunities include:

  • Guest lecturers and trainers: Our curriculum is designed to use volunteer trainers for Business English, Business Math, Workplace Expectations, and Financial Education;
  • Event staff:marketing, tabling, setup/cleanup;
  • Tutoring: Computer Skills, Business English, Business Math, conversation practice with English language learners, assisting teachers in our evening Computer Basics classes, helping evening Computer Basics students one-on-one; and
  • Other administrative, facility and project tasks as available.

If you would like to reserve your spot at one of our orientations, or if you would like more information about volunteering, call (925) 776-1133.
