The holidays can be a stressful and trying time for families who struggle to make ends meet. This year feels especially challenging with the pandemic requiring more social distancing during a time we are used to spending together.
This year, Opportunity Junction helped to ease that stress a little by distributing a turkey and $25 gift card for Thanksgiving fixings to our program participants and alumni. Doing our part to keep our community socially distanced and safe, Opportunity Junction staff set up a drive-by, no-contact pick up to spread love without spreading germs.
We want to send special thanks to Supervisor Federal Glover's office for donating 62 turkeys for our participants! Thanks, too, to Steve and Sue George for their generous contribution toward the cost of the gift cards.
The participants and alumni who received these Thanksgiving turkeys and gift cards expressed such gratitude! Their families will have a complete Thanksgiving meal, thanks to the generosity of our supporters.
